World View Studies - Biblical High School for your Home School
World View Studies - Biblical High School for your Home School

Free Food and Presentation

Parents of 8th through 12th-grade students:

Many of you are starting to make decisions for the fall of 2020 concerning your 8th—12th grade high school students.  This weekend I will be presenting the benefits of my classes, World View Studies, to help you home-educate your children.

For 8th grade I use Starting Points, a challenging and thought-provoking curriculum, published by Cornerstone Curriculum.

For high school, I use World Views of the Western World, published by the same company.

I award 20 credits toward high school; it is almost everything you need except for math and science.  In spite of that, these classes are very affordable; much more so than an equivalent amount of credits and education from almost anywhere else.

The fall will be my twelfth year to teach the classes.

Details of the presentation:

  1. Date: Saturday, Jan 11th
  2. Free food.
  3. Time: 6:30pm

Here’s an endorsement by the mom of one of my former students:

Why did we register my son for this class?

This class is only once a week and therefore, I knew I would still need to help him manage his time and would still be considered his "main" teacher. I am strong in math, but weak in writing.  I knew this class would help his writing skills.  This class would also hold me accountable to helping him read more.  We teach our kids what is right and wrong according to the Bible, but I wanted my son to have a forum where this could be discussed with others.  I wanted him to see that our family is not the only family who thinks this way.  This class helps him to see "he is not in this boat alone".  I like that the class is taught by a male, since most of our kids are around moms a lot.  Our kids can never have enough Godly male role models in their lives.  Here is what my husband said, "I wanted our son to be in the class to help him read more and to write better.  To take what he has read and then be able to process that information and then to write about it.  I also like that this class is driven by Christian principle."

Benefits my son has gained from this class:

Here is what he has gained so far.  His writing has improved and he is enjoying books more.  He has learned how to manage his time between keeping up with Starting Points, co-op, and what we do at home.  There have been several different types of presentations in the class, so he has been able to continue practicing getting up in front of others...and he has been a good model to others in his class on good presentation skills.  So, he gets a chance to be a model, yet have others model to him as well.  His critical thinking skills has greatly improved.  I have watched him mature this past semester in the conversations we have.  The ideas he brings home from class and then translates them to the rest of the world around him has been neat to watch.  And then to see him critique a play, a movie, a song according to a biblical worldview! This class has been a good tool for him to grow and mature in his thinking.

As usual, I need some help in posting this information on other email loops of interested families.  If you have access to any of the following loops, and it is permissible for you to do so, and if it has not already been forwarded, would you please forward this info?  Thanks.  Here are the lists I would like to notify:
