- From December 5th to February 1st I will teach weekly (3 per week) ballroom lessons (Free!) during the day, Tuesday –
Thursday (details below).
- The time of the year is upon my academic classes to take up dance lessons. We will be practicing for the World View Ball in February with Inklings theme. The Ball is open to World View students
(academic and dance), guests, and alumni. The daily dance lessons are open to any young people, even if you don't plan to come to the ball.
- In particular, I’m notifying families outside World View Studies who are interested in ballroom dancing.
- The dance lessons are fun in and of themselves. If you can make any of the times, please come. Bring friends, neighbors, siblings, enemies (wait, I just said that ?), … Here are the details:
- Cost: Free! Having extra students helps to round out the dance lessons for my World View Studies students.
- Waiver Form: If you've not yet turned one in, download, print out, fill out, and turn back into me this waiver form by time of lesson.
- Tuesdays:
- Dates: 12/5, 12/12, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30

- Moms, please consider staying and helping us to fill out boy/girl couples.
- WV/SP students, please note that for most of you, your lesson will start earlier than your normal academic class does, or it will run later. If you can arrive earlier (or stay later), then
please do as it will help out the other students. If the only time you can make is during your normal class time, then at least do that as you will be learning these dances even if you are not
coming to the ball. But if you can come early (or stay late), that will really help and be fun.
- WV/SP students: If there is no dance lesson scheduled during your class time, I may take some time just to teach your class privately. However, I strongly suggest you try to make some
other, scheduled dance lesson as it will be more robust and fun.
- Each lesson will basically be the same, so you only need to come to one per week.
- For those of you who have not done this before, here are some more details that will be of interest:
- What if I can’t dance? That’s not a problem; that’s what I teach. If I can dance, then anyone can. I teach dance from the very beginning.
- Types of dances:
- Ball room: Slow Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba
- English Country: Southwind, Heidenroslein
- Swing: East Coast, West Coast
- Group: Virginia Reel, Levi Jackson
- This is not primarily dancing for boyfriend/girlfriend (although that’s ok). I mix and match the couples throughout the lessons. This takes a lot of pressure off the young men,
especially, to have to “have a date.”
